“Forbidden romance coupled with high-stakes courtroom drama.”
It should be a Crime was great. Fabulous characters, a lovely romance, with professor/student angst, and a murder trial. Parker is awesome and her backstory and her cop ex-partner (in both senses) are really interesting and well written. The murder plot is no Agatha Christie whodunit, don’t expect to be able to follow clues and spot red herrings, but it’s well written, and that’s not what I’m reading a lesbian romance for, anyway. The prof got her girl, the sociopath got his comeuppance and the ending was sweet.
